Appearing as a Guest on a Basic Joomla Tutorials Live Stream
Thanks for your interest in being a guest on a Basic Joomla Tutorials Live Stream! I love having guests on to share their expertise, promote their extensions, tell their Joomla story, or discuss interesting topics. (If you are wondering what that looks like, check out the end of this article for some examples of previous videos with guests.)
When Does the Live Stream Take Place?
The live stream happens every Wednesday at 11:00 AM Pacific Time (West Coast of Canada).
To make sure everything runs smoothly, I like to connect with guests 15 minutes before the live stream starts to set up and test all the tech.
While I block out a two-hour slot for the live stream, it doesn't always run that long, and you're not expected to fill the entire time or be available for the full duration. Your segment can be as long or as short as needed to cover your topic effectively.
Understanding UTC Time
Since guests join from all over the world, it's important to know the Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) for the live stream. Due to daylight saving time changes, the UTC time will vary throughout the year.
Here's how to figure out the UTC time for the live stream, based on the typical daylight saving time schedule in British Columbia, Canada:
- During Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) (from the second Sunday in March to the first Sunday in November): The live stream starts at 18:00 UTC.
- For 2025, PDT begins on Sunday, March 9th.
- During Pacific Standard Time (PST) (from the first Sunday in November to the second Sunday in March): The live stream starts at 19:00 UTC.
- For 2025, PST begins on Sunday, November 2nd.
Please keep your own local time changes in mind and how they align with the Pacific Time Zone for the correct UTC conversion.
Alternative Recording Options
If the live stream time slot on Wednesdays simply never works for you, but you'd still like to share your knowledge or story, I'm happy to arrange an alternative! We can schedule a Zoom call (not live) where you can demonstrate something, or we can have a discussion. I'll then edit the recording and add the video to my YouTube channel.
Cost and Opportunities
There's no fee to appear as a guest on the Basic Joomla Tutorials live stream. Your willingness to share your knowledge and experience is greatly appreciated!
If you'd like to offer something extra to the audience, here are some options:
- Offer a discount on your products or services to live stream viewers.
- Do a giveaway of your extension or a related item.
As I said, there is no cost to come on the live stream. I appreciate and value your time and knowledge and your willingness to share it and help me build up my channel.
I look forward to potentially having you on the Basic Joomla Tutorials live stream!
